The women were the room and the room was full,
not of women but of cadences and bedclothes, cadences
     irregular
and full, as drapery rounded by a recurrence of a wind
or by sequential unrelated winds all of a night
and of bedclothes, of nightgowns, white bedclothes gone
     blue,
moved on by a wind, rumpled there by bodies, wind,
and night in a long generation of arrivals of nighttime,
