Stuff my eyes with clouds.
Dangle tender mites above my lashes till
      the lids go lank
         and drop
      on my new orbs
lodged in the sandstone sockets when
                                   I’m gone.

Stow each nook of eye
   with Woonsocket quarry
      from smacking sound waves.
         Let steaming cumulus
      stiffen in cold spells
   like span of bone gouged.

Left alone
   in my cradle of skull,
      soon I’ll grow bored
         with what I was.
