There is a clearing one hopes one is coming to
magically and without accountability but with
grave understanding any minute like a thing
you could see by peeking out the glass in a door:
the raccoon’s foreleg moving from the shoulder
slowly in a roundish fear-shape toward the cat
food bowl, or the adjacent hushed-up feeling of
tenderness one feels flipping through the body
when opening an antique book of photographs
