Issue 225, Summer 2018
If you find me nocturnal and flawed
Look again. Because tonight
I looked at me as though you were looking.
And it was like water
To slip from its home in the river
Without even touching the bank.
I looked at you. I’ve known for so long
That I’m land. For so long
Your body of water most fraternal
Would stretch out over mine. Shepherd and sailor
Look again. Less loftiness.
