While an open book rested in my lap, I heard a train coming.
There are no trains in the park; there could be no danger.
But a noise was getting closer. Various senses demurred, un-
willing to confirm.

Wind shrieked a desperate warning. Then the train—shaft
of iron!—running right through me! I slammed the book on
my finger.
