The Lieutenant Governor of Michigan
         has informed the first-
   and second-graders
of Eastwood Elementary: "Reading
         is fundamental.
   It's the foundation
upon which we build all other learning."

It's March Is Reading Month, an election
         year, and the Honorable
   Lieutenant
Governor is touring schools, sharing books
         aloud as his way
   of encouraging
better verbal scores on the Michigan

Education Assessment Test, which have
         fallen dramatically
   over the years,
the percentage of satisfactory
         shrinking faster than
   fish populations
in locations where foreign freighters
