Limes.
Three limes or
three peeled kiwi maybe but
not grapes.
To get proper grapes you’ve got to
breathe on them some,
fog ’em up, thin the skins.
There’s something dark at the heart of a grape,
like a lake that way or the unborn’s eyes.
And I don’t mean to criticize but
dim-lit, son,
is how grapes are,
like ice that don’t reflect no more—
