somewhere, and bricks dried in brick kilns?

Work has stopped for the winter,
never to start again.

Or it goes on behind closed doors,
till you see no sign of the seasons.

Pride seems to go with the baked loaf:

into the ovens. The bakers wear masks. Even here
there is time enough to slip a word in.
