I have come often to this forest,
home to these never not green trees.
Now, in a grove of auburn bones
the spindling skeletons summer flowers,
I hear the soft snow hiss through fir and spruce,
the shrill quick children skating on the pond
a safe and thousand miles from shoal and shark.
