Issue 39, Fall 1966
I got away with it all summer will
I get away with it all fall
& more importantly winter.
Infinitesimal yearnings, the romantic
or western concept of love
the cup in me with thoms
I am cruel to the children.
You stride up the street & I
get on a bus.
We got away with it for the past three years.
Another escaping & you are not so dumb
That you didn’t see that in it.
There are Xmas decorations in the windows.
Four Christmases ago or the summer before
and mostly ephemeral.
The seasons roll over it
flattening it out.
Still, a flicker of interest: what a funny hat
