Poem of the Day
Yellow Striped Pajamas
By Shamsher Bahadur Singh
walking silently on his paws, he emerges from the semidarkness and disappears into it.
walking silently on his paws, he emerges from the semidarkness and disappears into it.
Rumor, the homemade metamorphosis;
That with each telling modifies its key
Adjectives, its semicolons; that scales
Scores
of scorpions
honey-bright
O for Orchard leads only
to Orchard Hill Miniature Horses,
then Orchid Coiffeurs.
You dismiss the tiny, protesting fraction
back home, claim you've learned a nation
The poets have all told my story wrong
thought there was a well, and me out all alone.
The well was deep and so the rope was long.
While watching
a movie
with a lovely, unyielding,
Suddenly fatigued among French
women in the roman
Where you are now
Passing colors through your heart
You’re holding a bubble in your hands
It reflects everything as it grows
“Look, my legs,” you point after lying on the rocks.
By your toes, water is light yellow
like the most beautiful mouth wash.
