Book cover art at its best is mesmerizing. It should always be “open” during the whole time you are reading the book, whether on a coffee table, night stand or desk. You shouldn’t have to search for it, or re-charge your reading device to make it re-appear. I want to rub my thumbs over it without having to clean a screen afterwards. It doesn’t sit on my bookshelf; it hangs there, always, like a painting. It’s not buried agelessly in a somewhere. It will yellow and fade – like me.
