did you know
that you all work for me?
I asked them as a joke
did you know
that you all work for me?

They’re all dead anyway, and it’s a long time
since that neighbor blood was wiped up
And then a cry
floats to her from out of the night somewhere,
rising cold in the glassed-out shining wind
He has made things with his hands.
He knows how to get along with other boys.
He has experienced parliamentary procedure.
At this moment I am wearing what you bought me:
bikini underpants with that striped beast
sewn onto the front, whereof the quilted silk
1. I perceived myself falling in love
in bits and pieces in black and white.
