Images via My Modern Met.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>If you\u2019re like me, the walls of your home are obscured by hundreds, nay thousands, of thick, musty, outdated reference texts: The 1903<em> Wisden Cricketers\u2019 Almanack<\/em>. <em>Things to Know About Boll Weevils<\/em>. <em>Urinalysis and You. <\/em>A day ago, I would\u2019ve told you the only way to get rid of these books was to burn them. But now I\u2019ve learned that you can turn them into jewelry. It\u2019s easy:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Carefully tear out hundreds of pages and laminate them together.<\/li>\n<li>Using your hands and the same unalloyed will that led you to hoard these books in the first place, form the laminated paper into a ring, bracelet, pendant, or necklace of your choice.<\/li>\n<li>With your safety goggles on, take a power sander to your jewelry and buff it until you achieve a lustrous, glossy finish.<\/li>\n<li>Or just call <a href=\"http:\/\/littlefly.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Jeremy May<\/a>. He does this for a living and is better at it than you are.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>May, an artist based in London, is showing his book jewelry\u2014created using a vastly refined version of the process above\u2014as part of a group exhibition called \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.reinsteinross.com\/gallery\/gallery-details.php?cid=15\">Read and Worn: Jewelry from Books<\/a>,\u201d at New York\u2019s RR Gallery through April 24.
