These Paris editors have included, at different times,\u00a0Robert Silvers, Nelson Aldrich, Maxine Groffsky, and Susannah Hunnewell. Our new Paris editor, Antonin Baudry, served the French government as cultural counselor in New York and Madrid, as president of\u00a0the\u00a0Institut Fran\u00e7ais, and as an aide and speechwriter to foreign\u00a0minister Dominique de Villepin during the Iraq crisis, an experience on which he based a best-selling graphic novel and hit movie (released here as <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Weapons-Mass-Diplomacy-Abel-Lanzac\/dp\/190683878X\" target=\"_blank\">Weapons of Mass Diplomacy<\/a>\u00a0<em>and<\/em>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt2609222\/\" target=\"_blank\">The French Minister<\/a><em>, respectively<\/em><em>). We heard from Antonin earlier this week. \u2014L. S.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Dear Lorin,<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m writing you from the Caf\u00e9 de Tournon, where the founders of <em>The Paris Review<\/em> spent so much time back in the fifties. It happens to be my local, too. Today I ordered a\u00a0caf\u00e9 cr\u00e8me\u00a0instead of my usual espresso. I\u2019m celebrating your decision to make me the Paris editor of <em>The Paris Review<\/em>. I admit it sounds bizarre to me, though it\u2019s hard to say what exactly counts as bizarre these days, around here.
