Our Southern editor, John Jeremiah Sullivan, will be awarded\u00a0the same prize for his piece \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2014\/04\/13\/magazine\/blues.html?_r=0\" target=\"_blank\">The Ballad of Geeshie and Elvie<\/a>,\u201d published in <em>The New York Times Magazine <\/em>in April of last year.<\/p>\n<p>Second, hats off to Rachel Cusk, whose novel <em>Outline<\/em>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theparisreview.org\/blog\/wp-admin\/post.php?post=90691&amp;action=edit\" target=\"_blank\">serialized in the <em>Review <\/em>last year<\/a>, is a finalist for both the\u00a0Governor General\u2019s Literary Award and the Scotiabank Giller Prize\u2014both from Canada, where Cusk (who knew?) was born.<\/p>\n<p>That is all.
