Remember this summer\u2019s #ReadEverywhere contest, the one we went on and on about? It was a great success. We asked readers to submit pictures of themselves reading The Paris Review<\/em> or the\u00a0London Review of Books<\/em> around the world, and you did, by the hundreds, from far and wide. Now the time has come to announce the winners, selected\u00a0in an elaborate ritual\u00a0not unlike the papal conclave.<\/p>\n

(Have the rolling timpani in your head commence \u2026 now.)\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Paris Review<\/em>\u00a0doesn\u2019t grow on trees, but it does grow, somehow, in this one garden\u2014as proven by our colorful\u00a0THIRD RUNNER-UP<\/strong>. The photographer gets a\u00a0copy of one of our Writers at Work anthologies and, from the\u00a0LRB<\/em>, a Moleskine notebook and a goodie bag\u00a0(a tote including some postcards, a pencil, and an issue of the magazine).<\/p>\n

\"Third<\/p>\n

SECOND RUNNER-UP\u00a0<\/strong>goes to the intrepid newlyweds (and their officiant) who walked down the aisle with the\u00a0LRB<\/em>. They\u2019ll receive a full-color, 47″ x 35 1\/2″ poster of\u00a0Helen Frankenthaler\u2019s\u00a0West Wind<\/em><\/a>, part of our print series; and a\u00a0copy of Peter Campbell\u2019s\u00a0Artwork<\/a><\/em>\u00a0with the aforementioned LRB\u00a0<\/em>goodie bag. Whether they share\u00a0this bounty with the officiant is entirely up to them.<\/p>\n

\"Seond<\/a><\/p>\n

FIRST RUNNER-UP\u00a0<\/strong>is awarded to the young man who leads by example: we should never hide our heads in the sand, but the rest of our bodies, maybe, as long as our eyes are still free for reading. He\u2019s\u00a0coming away with one vintage issue from every decade we\u2019ve been around\u2014that\u2019s seven issues total\u2014curated by Lorin Stein.\u00a0And from the\u00a0London Review of Books<\/em>: an A3 <\/em>cover print of your choice (from the past ten years of the magazine) and the ever-coveted goodie bag.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And the GRAND PRIZE\u00a0<\/strong>goes to this soaring\u00a0reader of the\u00a0LRB<\/em>, whose\u00a0gravity-defying powers should be\u00a0attributed not to a trampoline but to\u00a0the brute\u00a0strength\u00a0of the written word. She\u2019ll receive one of the first-ever models of the\u00a0Astrohaus Freewrite<\/a>, the \u201cover-engineered smart typewriter for the twenty-first century.\u201d<\/p>\n
