Now there\u2019s a movement to preserve this mural, even if it\u2019s \u201can art critic\u2019s worst nightmare. For an esteemed literary publisher to leave behind a final work so unpredictable\u2014and so large\u2014has understandably baffled those who survived him. David Rose, editor-in-chief of <em>Lapham\u2019s Quarterly<\/em>, typifies most people\u2019s reactions to the wall. \u2018It\u2019s the most unexpected thing I would have associated with Barney Rosset,\u2019 he said. \u2018Of course he would do this, because it makes no fucking sense whatsoever.\u2019 \u201d<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/arts-entertainment\/music\/features\/the-future-of-songwriting-how-streaming-is-changing-everything-we-know-about-making-music-10293084.html\" target=\"_blank\">The evolving (devolving?) art of songwriting<\/a> in the streaming age: If everyone\u2019s using Spotify to listen to music, and Spotify pays artists only after their songs have been streamed for thirty seconds \u2026 then why bother to write songs that are longer than thirty seconds? \u201cNow that streaming has taken off, will song form react? Will it just be three choruses and nothing else? Is it the return of the ABAB song form, where the sections have a balanced weight and there are no sections dedicated to \u2018setting up\u2019 another section? \u2026 And bridges? Bridges to what, exactly? Who has time for a bridge? You\u2019re either there or you\u2019re not there. Why get stuck in transit from one section to another?\u201d<\/li>\n<li>The Sketchbook Project is \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.newyorker.com\/books\/page-turner\/inside-a-strangers-sketchbook?intcid=mod-latest\" target=\"_blank\">a collection of crowdsourced sketchbooks that is, according to its staff, the largest in the world<\/a>. The project was founded in 2006, when Steven Peterman and Shane Zucker, two art students living in Atlanta, began mailing blank Moleskines to anyone who wanted one for a small fee, and then archiving whatever came back.\u201d The project, which now comprises some thirty-four thousand books, is currently mounting its final world tour.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cWhenever you introduce a character, you don\u2019t have to specify that they are wearing pants.
