Image via Hyperallergic<\/p><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Today is the first-ever <a href=\"http:\/\/www.literaturewales.org\/dylan-day\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dylan Day<\/a>: a commemoration of Dylan Thomas\u2019s <em>Under Milk Wood<\/em>, which he debuted at 92Y (his voice \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/92y.tumblr.com\/post\/50436197610\/from-the-poetry-center-archive-dylan-thomass\">removed and godlike in tone<\/a>\u201d) on May 14, 1953. Dylan Day grants you a plausible reason to seize strangers by their lapels and scream about raging against the dying of the light. Do this. The opportunity comes but once a year.<\/li>\n<li>What happens when <a href=\"http:\/\/tmagazine.blogs.nytimes.com\/2015\/05\/13\/francois-roche-pierre-huyghes-train-to-nowhere\/?ref=t-magazine&amp;_r=0&amp;smid=nytimesarts\" target=\"_blank\">a performance artist abducts a bunch of curators and collectors for an \u201cexperimental expedition\u201d in the Swiss Alps<\/a>? More or less what you\u2019d expect: \u201cKobilinsky appeared out in the snow. He was completely naked and he was walking toward the structure. It was a wild sight. Not just the naked man staggering through a wide expanse of snowy nothingness, but the group of esteemed collectors crowding the windows like eager schoolchildren. When Kobilinsky reached the crystal igloo and began to crawl inside, agonizing screams started emanating from somewhere outside the train.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cI would sacrifice my own life for a chance to throw a single brick at Ernest Hemingway, the American novelist who eats too much \u2026 He coughs up feathers out of his mouth wherever he goes.\u201d <a href=\"http:\/\/www.clickhole.com\/article\/amazing-check-out-these-letters-between-ernest-hem-2431\" target=\"_blank\">New \u201cletters\u201d between \u201cHemingway\u201d and \u201cFitzgerald.\u201d<\/a><\/li>\n<li>As the nineties cedes its contemporariness and becomes \u201can object of historical inquiry,\u201d it is now time to ask: What the hell happened back there? A new show, \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/hyperallergic.com\/205937\/what-was-art-of-the-1990s-all-about\/?wt=2\" target=\"_blank\">Come As You Are: Art of the 1990s<\/a>,\u201d begins the critical task of contextualizing the works of the Clinton era. \u201cThe show marks our own radical break with a decade at once familiar and unfamiliar \u2026 The nineties were marked by various points of turbulence that have now evolved into unremarkable if not unproblematic features of our daily lives: a changing geopolitical order, precipitated by the 1989 fall of the Berlin Wall and the subsequent collapse of the Soviet Union; the \u201cdigital revolution,\u201d which linked spatially disparate societies for the first time; the emergence of a global art scene and the series of international festivals and events it spawned; and the advent of so-called \u2018identity politics.\u2019 \u201d<\/li>\n<li>Before there was Naples, there was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.the-tls.co.uk\/tls\/public\/article1555487.ece\" target=\"_blank\">Parthenope, a beautiful city on the bay in roughly the same location<\/a>; Virgil retired there, and the city traded on this fact for centuries. \u201cVirgil\u2019s place in Parthenope was paraded from the moment of his death, though not perhaps in the way he might most have wished. He became much more than a poet.
