Love, real estate, alcoholism\u2014this novel has it all. No word yet on who will play the Duke of Omnium.<\/li>\n<li>If Silicon Valley scuttlebutt is right, \u201csnackable content\u201d\u2014bite-size morsels of dubiously nutritious entertainment\u2014is now the most popular stuff on the Internet. What we ought to do, then, is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/opinions\/great-expectations\/2015\/04\/24\/ad1e24a2-e916-11e4-9767-6276fc9b0ada_story.html\" target=\"_blank\">start to serialize novels again<\/a>. \u201cPublishers could release novels\u2014either completed upfront or written month to month\u2014on their own imprints or through periodicals such as <em>People<\/em> or <em>The Paris Review<\/em>.\u201d (We can\u2019t speak for <em>People<\/em>, but we\u2019ve serialized two novels in the past few years, and we don\u2019t intend to stop.)<\/li>\n<li>Young writers get all the attention\u2014and, more important, all the awards. But \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2015\/04\/25\/opinion\/whats-so-great-about-young-writers.html?smprod=nytcore-iphone&amp;smid=nytcore-iphone-share\">age-based awards are outdated and discriminatory<\/a>, even if unintentionally so.
