But that radiant superiority is earned: French waiters are\u00a0still more talented than most everyone else in the game. No one has perfected the art as they have. Sartre wrote of their \u201clively and exaggerated manner, a little too precise, a little too fast \u2026 trying to mimic the rigor of a robot while carrying his tray with the temerity of a tightrope walker.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/books\/2015\/feb\/23\/poet-pablo-neruda-body-reburied-chile?utm_medium=twitter&amp;utm_source=dlvr.it\" target=\"_blank\">It\u2019s time to bury Pablo Neruda again<\/a>, a Chilean judge has ruled. I\u2019ve been traveling, visiting European institutions, and they give you a gorgeous space to work, with perhaps a lake and a beautiful desk. I could never write there; I feel intimidated by the whole thing. When you\u2019re in bed, you feel very casual about it. It\u2019s just doodling.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Industry analysts, publishers, and grown-ups are flummoxed by news that hip, digitally native young persons <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/local\/why-digital-natives-prefer-reading-in-print-yes-you-read-that-right\/2015\/02\/22\/8596ca86-b871-11e4-9423-f3d0a1ec335c_story.html\" target=\"_blank\">apparently prefer reading printed books<\/a> to reading electronic ones. \u201cThese are people who aren\u2019t supposed to remember what it\u2019s like to even smell books,\u201d said one wide-eyed, confused adult. \u201cIt\u2019s quite astounding.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Your stereotypical French waiter is condescending, arrogant, and rigid with hauteur\u2014a veritable seven-course meal of Gallic clich\u00e9s.
