This one, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theparisreview.org\/poetry\/3363\/shes-not-gone-philip-levine\" target=\"_blank\">She\u2019s Not Gone<\/a>,\u201d comes from our Winter-Spring 1980 issue. To my knowledge, Levine never reprinted it in any of his collections.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-body-text story-content\" data-para-count=\"221\" data-total-count=\"4835\">\u201cYou met a lot of unpretentious people in Philip Levine\u2019s spare, ironic poems,\u201d\u00a0Dwight Garner <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2015\/02\/16\/books\/an-appraisal-the-poet-philip-levine-an-outsider-archiving-the-forgotten.html?_r=0\" target=\"_blank\">wrote in the<em>\u00a0New York Times <\/em>on Sunday<\/a>. \u201cCome as you are, this important and emotionally committed poet told us.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Someone enters your life<br \/>on a day you no longer<br \/>remember.
