Whether Robertson is writing about sex, violence or the sea\u2014three subjects he keeps coming back to\u2014he remains a poet of the body, with a fondness for consonant-\u00addense, guttural words that carry an almost physical presence on the page.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>An LED sign in downtown Los Angeles was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.laweekly.com\/news\/read-a-f-ing-book-street-sign-was-likely-a-hack-photos-5332229\">hacked in the name of literacy<\/a>. Indie booksellers are reporting a noticeable uptick in sales.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cIn my judgment, there are between twenty and thirty editors and publishers in New York who\u2014along with experienced and discriminating publicists, marketers, and sales reps\u2014have over the decades <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slate.com\/articles\/arts\/books\/2015\/01\/longtime_book_editor_daniel_menaker_on_amazon_authors_united_and_the_future.html\">regularly and successfully combined art and commerce<\/a> and, in the process, have supported and promulgated art. They are in fact the main curators of our life of letters. They have somehow survived the grinding\u2014tectonic\u2014friction between creativity and business and made a go of both.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Joe Sacco on <em>Charlie Hebdo<\/em>: \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/ng-interactive\/2015\/jan\/09\/joe-sacco-on-satire-a-response-to-the-attacks\">Satire is meant to cut to the bone<\/a>. But whose bone? What exactly is the target?
