For the past few years, readers of the Daily <\/em>have enjoyed an occasional series called \u201cWindows on the World<\/a>,\u201d featuring Matteo Pericoli\u2019s intricate pen-and-ink drawings of the views from writers\u2019 windows around the world. Now those drawings are available in a book\u2014Windows on the World: Fifty Writers, Fifty Views<\/em><\/a>\u2014and we\u2019re celebrating with a contest<\/a>. You can have your view illustrated by Pericoli, too.<\/p>\n

Starting today, submit a photograph of the view through your window\u2014including the window frame\u2014along with three hundred words about what you see, to contests@theparisreview.org<\/a>. Submissions will be judged by the editors of The Paris Review<\/em> and Penguin Press, and by Matteo Pericoli. The winner will receive Pericoli\u2019s original sketch and have his or her essay published on the Paris Review Daily<\/em>. Five finalists will receive signed copies of Windows on the World<\/em>.<\/p>\n
