She\u2019s done more than eighty of them. \u201cWe have learned that whatever was, isn\u2019t \u2026 I once went to the Landmarks Commission and said, \u2018What buildings are coming down?\u2019 And they said they never know until the wrecking ball hits. And that was about twenty years ago.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/americantheatre.org\/2014\/10\/in-conversation-tony-kushner-and-john-lahr-talk-tennessee-williams\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tony Kushner on Tennessee Williams<\/a>: \u201cBecause he was mining himself, his <em>self<\/em>, so endlessly, at some point what you call a kind of calcification of the heart manifests itself, and the self-mining becomes a kind of self-devouring, self-cannibalism, even; the business of putting your self and your inner life on stage over and over becomes a form of self-consumption.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>The French culture minister, Fleur Pellerin, has never read any of Patrick Modiano\u2019s books\u2014actually, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.france24.com\/en\/20141027-scorn-french-culture-minister-admits-no-time-books\/\" target=\"_blank\">in the past two years, she hasn\u2019t read any books at all<\/a>. \u201cI haven\u2019t had time to read anything in the last two years except for a lot of notes, legislative texts, and newswires,\u201d she said. Some have taken this news poorly. \u201cNothing will uplift us, the soul is an illusion,\u201d one commentator said.<\/li>\n<li>Lubricious opening lines: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/books\/australia-books-blog\/2014\/oct\/28\/filthy-first-pages-do-they-make-you-want-to-read-on\" target=\"_blank\">Do they attract or dispel readers<\/a>?
