Twenty-five Miss Subways <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newyorker.com\/magazine\/2014\/10\/27\/underground-beauties?utm_source=tny&amp;utm_campaign=generalsocial&amp;utm_medium=twitter&amp;mbid=social_twitter\" target=\"_blank\">held a reunion recently<\/a>. \u201cI thought this would be a springboard for my career, but, instead, I got married when I was twenty-one and had my son before I was twenty-two.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>On the eighteenth-century Irish writer Laetitia Pilkington, who \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.poetryfoundation.org\/article\/249064\" target=\"_blank\">is recognizable as a type that still confounds many people today<\/a>: an ambitious and righteously angry woman who refused to lose her sense of humor. And she used both her anger and her humor in her writing to spin gold out of the indignities and misfortunes\u2014some of them of her own creation\u2014that followed her all her life.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cI firmly believe that art is a resistance machine. I want poetry to give hardcore thigh burn. As Frost said, no thigh burn for the writer, no thigh burn for the reader. I want to get to that place of cold neutrality where almost anything could work in poetry, though always somewhere obliquely remembering, it\u2019s not all just up for grabs.\u201d <a href=\"http:\/\/www.granta.com\/New-Writing\/In-Conversation-Dorothea-Lasky-and-Adam-Fitzgerald\" target=\"_blank\">Dorothea Lasky and Adam Fitzgerald talk<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Is transrealism \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/books\/booksblog\/2014\/oct\/24\/transrealism-first-major-literary-movement-21st-century\" target=\"_blank\">the first major literary movement of the twenty-first century<\/a>\u201d? \u201cTransrealism argues for an approach to writing novels routed first and foremost in reality. It rejects artificial constructs like plot and archetypal characters in favor of real events and people, drawn directly from the author\u2019s experience.
