He asked me what I might like to hear, and when I hesitated, he suggested Zoumbas \u2026 in Epirus, King said, these songs live and die in the looks and handshakes and embraces exchanged in their presence.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>When Freud, who died seventy-five years ago, was diagnosed with a very malignant form of cancer, he said he wanted to \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/health\/archive\/2014\/09\/how-sigmund-freud-wanted-to-die\/380322\/?single_page=true\" target=\"_blank\">disappear from the world with dignity<\/a>,\u201d which meant enlisting his doctor, Max Schur, to euthanize him. \u201cAll this was said without a trace of emotionality or self\u2011pity, and with full consciousness of reality.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cTed Hughes didn\u2019t just write a lot of poems about animals\u2014about pikes and jaguars and thought-foxes. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moreintelligentlife.com\/blog\/simon-willis\/poems-are-animals\" target=\"_blank\">He thought of poems as animals<\/a>. \u2018They have their own life,\u2019 he wrote in an essay in 1967, \u2018\u2009\u2026 and nothing can be added to them or taken away without maiming and perhaps even killing them.\u2019\u2009\u201d<\/li>\n<li>An Arizona law against \u201crevenge porn\u201d <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mhpbooks.com\/arizona-booksellers-and-librarians-sue-state-over-revenge-porn-law\/\" target=\"_blank\">has the state\u2019s booksellers concerned<\/a>: it \u201ccould be applied to any person who distributes or displays an image of nudity\u2014including pictures that are newsworthy, artistic, educational, or historic\u2014without the depicted person\u2019s consent, even images for which consent was impossible to obtain or is difficult to prove \u2026 \u2018There are books on my shelves right now that might be illegal to sell under this law.
