Another: \u201cBeware of this house, stranger, as you would the sting of a viper.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>A list of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/technology\/archive\/2014\/09\/the-100-books-that-facebook-users-love\/379797\/?single_page=true\" target=\"_blank\">the one hundred most popular books on Facebook<\/a> contains exactly zero surprises.<\/li>\n<li>From a new documentary on Susan Sontag: \u201cShe sat me down on her bed \u2026 and ran through the argument of the <em>Critique of Pure Reason<\/em>, Kant\u2019s <em>Critique of Pure Reason<\/em>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.neh.gov\/humanities\/2014\/septemberoctober\/feature\/notes-sontag\" target=\"_blank\">She must have been fifteen<\/a>.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cWe all have bodies; we all wear clothes; we all have reflections that vex us; we all exist in dynamic relationship to our communities, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.style.com\/trends\/fashion\/2014\/finding-feminism-in-fashion\" target=\"_blank\">fashion is a medium for testing or strengthening those bonds<\/a> \u2026 anyone who diminishes the significance of that is carrying water for the patriarchy, deferring reflexively to those thousands of years of human history when men got to decide what was frivolous or not. You know what&#8217;s frivolous? Fantasy football.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>In 1932, Einstein endorsed a psychic. And she endorsed him: \u201cDr. Einstein is indeed the most remarkable personality I have ever contacted [sic]. And his aura is just sublime\u2014pure blue electric sparks, instead of color. It was just like talking to God.\u201d And so Einstein\u2019s credibility as a scientist came under fire: \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.newrepublic.com\/article\/119292\/controversy-einsteins-endorsement-psychic-upton-sinclair-defends?utm_content=buffer5e97e&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter.com&amp;utm_campaign=buffer\" target=\"_blank\">Now he is the tamest lion in the intellectual zoo<\/a>. He goes everywhere. He attends picture openings with the regularity and aplomb of Clark Gable.
