He uses the old style of speech to tell what has always been a surprisingly modern story: that of a kingdom in which every socioeconomic problem is brilliantly resolved and its people turn to a pure and destructive religious idealism.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>The actress Lisa Dwan is taking her production of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.independent.ie\/entertainment\/theatre-arts\/a-mouth-and-she-is-not-afraid-to-use-it-30456964.html\" target=\"_blank\">three one-woman Beckett plays<\/a>\u2014<em>Not I<\/em>, <em>Rockaby<\/em>, and <em>Footfalls\u2014<\/em>on a world tour.<\/li>\n<li>Advice for reading blurbs: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/books\/2014\/jul\/31\/book-covers-ignore-superlatives\" target=\"_blank\">Don\u2019t<\/a>. \u201cCover blurbs aren\u2019t reviews. They\u2019re advertisements. No space for balanced, nuanced positivity. Nothing can be interesting; it must be fascinating. Good isn\u2019t good enough; it must be great.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.believermag.com\/issues\/201407\/?read=article_molotkow\" target=\"_blank\">Rock stars are not gods<\/a> but rather human beings whose emotions happen to resonate with millions\u2014emotions that are inspired by other human beings, some of whom have written memoirs. These books are often disregarded as attempts to cash in, but while the books are sometimes bitter, they\u2019re rarely cynical.
