It\u2019s almost as if this pontiff wants to make the world a better place.<\/li>\n<li>Victorian occultists believed in a kind of synesthesia, \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/publicdomainreview.org\/2014\/03\/19\/victorian-occultism-and-the-art-of-synesthesia\/\" target=\"_blank\">the theory that ideas, emotions, and even events, can manifest as visible auras<\/a>.\u201d Fortunately for all of us, they made many terrific illustrations to support this theory, too.<\/li>\n<li>A landfill in New Mexico may contain truckload upon truckload of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alamogordonews.com\/alamogordo-news\/ci_25380218\/atari-dig-put-hold-alamogordo-by-environmental-department\" target=\"_blank\">the worst video game of all time<\/a>: Atari\u2019s 1982 <i>E.T.<\/i> tie-in.<\/li>\n<li>After years of trying to sweep him under the rug, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newrepublic.com\/article\/117082\/nietzsche-and-death-god-new-books-peter-watson-terry-eagleton?utm_content=4455591&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter\" target=\"_blank\">atheists are finally talking about Nietzsche again<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Turkey\u2019s Twitter ban has spawned a new Web site, Mwitter, which is <a href=\"http:\/\/languagelog.ldc.upenn.edu\/nll\/?p=11255#comment-583206\" target=\"_blank\">semantically pretty fascinating<\/a>.
