It lops off adverbs and corrects instances of passive voice, but \u201cit\u2019s pretty tricky to distill instructions into computer code and make a machine into an editor.\u201d Phew. Job security.<\/li>\n<li>Why are writers such inveterate procrastinators? \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/business\/archive\/2014\/02\/why-writers-are-the-worst-procrastinators\/283773\/\" target=\"_blank\">We were too good in English class<\/a>.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Another question: Why do literary biographers insist on portraying \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nybooks.com\/blogs\/nyrblog\/2014\/feb\/11\/writers-saints\/\" target=\"_blank\">a positive moral image<\/a>\u201d of their subjects, many of whom were ethically lax?<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/food52.com\/blog\/9741-the-tournament-of-cookbooks-is-here\" target=\"_blank\">The Tournament of Cookbooks has begun<\/a>. There will be blood. And bruised egos.
