But a new year is upon us, and we intend to try new things: like duck larb, or sweetbreads in mole, or Alsatian choucroute garnie.<\/p>\n<p>Sure, <i>The Paris Review<\/i> is reliable: with the best in fiction, interviews, poetry, and art, plus three National Magazine Awards in the last five years, we prefer to think of ourselves as sturdy, not stodgy. But in terms of variety, it\u2019s hard to beat\u00a0<i>McSweeney\u2019s<\/i>, whose every issue is a veritable jack-in-the-box of unpredictability. Where we hew to the tried and true\u2014same trim size, same typeface\u2014at\u00a0<i>McSweeney\u2019s <\/i>these things are subject to change without notice. 2005\u2019s \u201cMade to Look Like It Came in Your Mailbox\u201d issue was just that; winter 2010 came in a large box illustrated with <a href=\"https:\/\/store.mcsweeneys.net\/products\/mcsweeneys-issue-36\" target=\"_blank\">a very rubicund head<\/a>; and their most recent offering, \u201cMultiples,\u201d features up to six different versions of twelve stories.<\/p>\n<p>Clearly, then, the most variety of all would come from reading both our magazines. That\u2019s why, through January, we\u2019re offering a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theparisreview.org\/subscribe\" target=\"_blank\">subscription deal<\/a>: you can get <i>McSweeney\u2019s <\/i>and <i>The Paris Review<\/i> for just $75, a 20 percent savings.
