So far, more than 45,000 contestants have taken the challenge. It is, in the words of host Guy Raz, the \u201c<em>American Idol<\/em> of microfiction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This Saturday kicks off a new round of \u201cThree-Minute Fiction\u201d with guest judge Brad Meltzer. And with a new first prize\u2014publication in <em>The Paris Review<\/em>. That\u2019s right: the winner will appear in our Winter issue.
