The prize is named for the\u00a0<em>Review<\/em>\u2019s longtime editor George Plimpton and reflects his commitment to discovering new writers of exceptional merit. The winner is chosen by the Board of the\u00a0<em>Review<\/em>. This year\u2019s prize will be presented by Mona Simpson.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_27986\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theparisreview.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/wilson.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-27986\" class=\"size-full wp-image-27986\" title=\"Adam Wilson.\" src=\"https:\/\/www.theparisreview.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/wilson.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"454\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.theparisreview.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/wilson.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.theparisreview.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/wilson-198x300.jpg 198w\" sizes=\"auto, (min-width: 62.5em) 67vw, 100vw\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-27986\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Adam Wilson.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The Terry Southern Prize for Humor is a $5,000 award recognizing wit, panache, and sprezzatura in work published\u00a0by\u00a0<em>The Paris Review<\/em> or online by the Daily.\u00a0Perhaps best known as the screenwriter behind\u00a0<em>Dr. Strangelove<\/em> and\u00a0<em>Easy Rider<\/em>\u2014and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theparisreview.org\/current-issue\">subject of an interview in issue 200<\/a>!\u2014Terry Southern was also a\u00a0satirical novelist, a pioneering New Journalist, and a driving force behind the early\u00a0<em>Paris Review<\/em>. Comedian David Cross will present this year\u2019s award.<\/p>\n<p>The honoree of this year\u2019s Revel is Robert Silvers.
