Inspired by the pleasure we took in spending time in his company (at least\u00a0on the page),\u00a0we hunted through the archives for some of the most memorable\u2014which is to say, memorably off-kilter\u2014voices the <em>Review<\/em> has published over the years. Inevitably, this led us to our<b><a href=\"https:\/\/theparisreview.org\/interviews\/3547\/the-art-of-fiction-no-66-marguerite-young\"> Art of Fiction interview<\/a><\/b> with Marguerite Young, whose hallucinatory novel\u00a0<em><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theparisreview.org\/blog\/2018\/09\/19\/the-most-unread-book-ever-acclaimed\/\">Miss Macintosh, My Darling<\/a><\/b><\/em> is, in her words, \u201can inquest into the illusions individuals suffer from.\u201d From the same issue, no. 71 (Fall 1977), there are<b><a href=\"https:\/\/theparisreview.org\/poetry\/3562\/two-poems-erica-jong\">\u00a0two poems<\/a><\/b> by Erica Jong in which a lonely narrator putters around, talking to her cat.
