The world<br \/>\nis flux, and light becomes what it touches,<br \/>\nbecomes water, lilies on water,<br \/>\nabove and below water,<br \/>\nbecomes lilac and mauve and yellow<br \/>\nand white and cerulean lamps,<br \/>\nsmall fists passing sunlight<br \/>\nso quickly to one another<br \/>\nthat I despair, my brush not being<br \/>\nlong, streaming hair. To paint<br \/>\nthe speed of light! Doctor,<br \/>\nour weighted shapes, these verticals,<br \/>\nburn to mix with air<br \/>\nand change our clothes, skin, bones<br \/>\nto gases. If only you could see<br \/>\nhow heaven pulls earth into its arms<br \/>\nand how infinitely the heart expands<br \/>\nto claim the world, blue vapor without end.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Maya C.
