I threw them off and ran far enough away to call the police. I spent the next several days replaying the scene in my head.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>DAY TWO<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theparisreview.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Kanin_parisreviewdiary3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.theparisreview.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Kanin_parisreviewdiary3.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Zach Kanin\" width=\"574\" height=\"685\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-12950\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday I had a harmonica lesson and a personal-training session, but not at the same time.<\/p>\n<p><em>Zachary Kanin is a cartoonist for <\/em>The New Yorker<em> and the author of <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Short-Book-Stories-Freakish-World\/dp\/1579127517\">The Short Book<\/a><em>.
