All our friends are going or gone, and we survive amongst the dead and dying as on a battlefield.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Ridicule is the only honorable weapon we have left.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">It is a common misunderstanding that one who does not know another\u2019s mother tongue is assumed to be less intelligent and discerning than he is.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The eye of the true artist doesn\u2019t see life in the way of goods paid for. The world is ours. It is our birthright. We take it without payment.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I had known for a long time that success could not be my profession in life, nor failure a calling, for that matter. These were by-products.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">All of the young of the human species are born omniscient. Babies, in the waking hours, know everything that is going on in the world; they can tune in to any conversation they choose, switch on any scene.
