G. Sebald called him \u201cthat most enlightened of writers,\u201d and Susan Sontag wrote that \u201cmore than a few of Kluge\u2019s many books are essential, brilliant achievements.\u201d He\u2019ll discuss his latest book,\u00a0<em>The Great Hour of Kong\u00a0<\/em>(<em>Kongs gro\u00dfe Stunde<\/em>,\u00a0Suhrkamp) and share a selection of new writings prompted by Lerner\u2019s poetry. (We have it on good authority that these pieces will appear in a forthcoming issue of a certain literary quarterly, maybe even the one whose website you\u2019re currently reading.)<\/p>\n<p>Kluge will also share a short film program and some live piano music, including Jacques Offenbach\u2019s <em>Bataclan<\/em>\u00a0and Giuseppe Verdi\u2019s\u00a0<em>Attila<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The event begins at 5:30 Sunday evening.
