That Paragraph app is terrible. The reading experience is saturated with music, images and the option of ‘listening to the text. Traditionally, the atmosphere of a book was created by the reader’s interaction with the text – apps like this wrap you up in a cozy media bubble and dictate the conditions of your reading experience. I think that’s a bad thing. I should add that songs with vocals can only distract one’s attention from text. Reading this comment, you probably think I’m a reactionary Luddite or stating the obvious, depending on your age.
